Pickup availability

Show local pickup availability on product pages so shoppers can see which of your stores have the selected variant.

Pickup availability shows shoppers whether the selected variant can be picked up at one of your locations. It appears on the product page and in the Featured product section, using the pickup and inventory information you set up in Shopify.

Set up local pickup in Shopify

Pickup availability uses Shopify's own location data. Before it can show:

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
  2. Under Local pickup, turn on pickup for each location that offers it.
  3. Keep inventory up to date for each location.
  4. Make sure each location has a complete address, so the directions link works.

Turn it on in the theme

Product page

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize and open a product template.
  2. Select Main product.
  3. Check that Show store availability block is on. It is on by default.
  4. Make sure the Pickup availability block is added, and drag it to where you want it.

Pickup availability shows where the Pickup availability block is placed.

The Featured product section has the same Show store availability block setting and Pickup availability block. The setting is off by default, so turn it on if you want pickup shown there.

What shoppers see

Pickup availability appears once the shopper has chosen every option for the product. It then shows:

  • whether the variant is in stock at a store, with the store's name and pickup time when Shopify provides one, or that it isn't available at the nearest store;
  • a Change store button that opens the full list of locations.

In the list, each location shows:

  • whether the variant is available there, or out of stock;
  • the pickup time, when available;
  • the address and a Directions link that opens a map;
  • a Select button to make it the store shown on the product page. The choice is remembered on the shopper's device.

Availability updates when the shopper changes variant.

Variants that sell when out of stock

Pickup availability is not hidden for variants set to continue selling when out of stock. Each location shows what Shopify reports for it.
