Switching Theme Styles

How to switch between the five visual styles — Factor, Pulse, Raven, Silica, and State — using the theme editor or settings.

Switching Theme Styles

Your theme includes five visual styles — Factor Flow, Pulse Flow, Raven Flow, Silica Flow, and State Flow. There are two ways to switch between them, and they work very differently.

Where to find it: Theme Settings → Theme settings → Style selector

This is the safe, everyday way to change your store's look.

What it does

  • Switches the visual style (colors, fonts, button shapes) instantly
  • Keeps all your settings, content, and color customisations intact
  • Think of it like changing an outfit — what's underneath stays the same

When to use it

  • You want to try a different look without losing any work
  • You're A/B testing different aesthetics
  • You changed your mind and want to go back — just switch again

Change Theme Style (Shopify built-in)

Where to find it: Theme Settings → Theme style (at the bottom of the settings sidebar)

This is a full reset to a preset's saved defaults.

What it does

  • Replaces all theme settings with the preset's defaults
  • Resets your color schemes, font choices, and section configurations
  • Content (products, collections, pages) is not affected

When to use it

  • You want a clean start with a specific preset's recommended settings
  • You've made many changes and want to reset everything back to a known baseline
  • You're setting up the store for the first time and want a quick starting point

Warning: This action cannot be undone. Any custom settings you've made (color tweaks, font changes, section configurations) will be overwritten.

Tips

  • Start with Change theme style when first setting up your store to load a preset's recommended defaults, then use the Style selector for any visual changes going forward.
  • If you want to experiment, the Style selector is always safe — switch freely and nothing is lost.
  • Before using Change theme style, consider duplicating your theme first as a backup.
